In Raleigh a General Assembly committee session spotlighted spending concerns as Sen. J C Crawford questioned a small prison system grant. Sen Roger Sharpe challenged Crawford to pay a debt over pre release and after care counseling duties, Crawford eventually handed Sharpe a hundred dollars which Sharpe kept briefly before returning it.
