In Greensboro North Carolina on April 15 cadets Richard Eatman and James Davis from Oak Ridge Institute were hospitalized in critical condition after an automobile accident near Oak Ridge. Melton Smith of Kernersville was held on a $1000 bond awaiting magistrate hearing for drunken driving. Eatman suffered a shattered thigh pelvis fracture and head injury with pneumonia. Davis sustained a severe head blow with no fractures.
