Commander W T Southards announces April 15 as the night to install officers for the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 619 and the Ladies Auxiliary. J W Gallen Sr will install the VFW officers and Mrs Roy Graham will preside for the auxiliary. Ralph Wagner is named the new Commander elect as the post prepares for a charity ball report and refreshments after ceremonies.

Funeral services for Mrs Eliza beth Gillis Jackson 48 were held Sunday at Home by Elbert Newlin minister and Dr L B Reavis pastor. Interment at Floral Garden Park cemetery. Survivors include W J Gillis of Rockwell and several nieces and nephews. Mrs Jackson was a nurse of High Point N C and died in High Point Memorial hospital.

Easter Sunrise Service Draws Four Hundred In Thomasville
Drizzling rain did not deter about 400 residents from gathering before dawn at Memorial Park for the third Easter Sunrise Service. After early worship they attended morning services, then spent the day visiting, with afternoon sun bringing Easter bonnets and parades downtown. Police arrested a barefoot pajama clad man for auto tampering. one state trooper noted a drunken driving arrest. Merchants reported brisk Easter attire sales and many planned after Easter sales. City and county workers return to extended weekend holidays tomorrow.

Funeral Rites Held For Mother Of Local Woman
