Diamond play costs declarer the contract in bridge analysis
The dealer passes 14 Fagin and the play hinges on locating the ten of diamonds in East. Declarer assumes East does not hold a singleton and plays queen of diamonds. West covers with king and dummy’s ace wins, dropping the ten. Six clubs offers a easier contract by avoiding the diamond guess and allows heart management.
