Saul and Samuel Choose Israel King Ends in Tragedy

A King is chosen to lead Israel, Saul, by Samuel after God instructs. Saul disobeys by offering sacrifice and later spares Amalek and livestock, angering the Lord. Samuel rebukes him, prophesies the end of his line, and David is anointed as the future king. Saul dies by his own hand after a Philistine victory, and David succeeds him.
