North Carolina links to Tennessee records in state archives
The North Carolina Archives houses Tennessee related records created before 1790 when the area was part of North Carolina. An information circular by C. F. W. Coker explains how Tennessee records arrived and are listed by county. Circulars cost 25 cents. The piece recalls 1776 petitions for incorporation, the District of Washington, and the evolution to Tennessee in 1796. Also highlighted are Revolutionary War Pay, Civil War, and 1787–1890 NC Census records with circulars at 28 cents.
