Prices Low On Orchids For Easter Parade
A survey of local florists shows orchids for Easter cost 3.75 to 15 dollars, with mass production driving the low price. Many orchids come from New Jersey rather than Hawaii, while roses, gardenias, carnations, and cut flowers stay near last year’s levels. Corsages start at 3.50 for roses and 2.00 for gardenias, with lilies back in wholesale supply. The orchid remains the dominant Easter flower, with many choosing variety to stand out.
