Special School System Will Be Given Try
The Roosevelt administration plans to train thousands of aviation mechanics in high schools to meet defense needs while many pilots are produced by colleges. The program adds federal subsidies to vocational education and uses NYA work experience in part, with expanded schooling at plants in Charleston West Virginia and Algiers Louisiana. The plan aims to double factory aviation labor to fulfill orders for military planes and commercial work.
