Market slips after wholesale price jump and inflation warning

New York stocks ended slightly lower as wholesale price index increased 1.1 percent for the month, marking the sharpest rise since October 1975. The Dow fell 0.67 points to 914.06 at noon, with losers leading gainers 8 to 7 on the NYSE. Moore-McCormack Resources jumped to 48 percent after a 3-for-2 stock split and dividend increase. NYSE composite inched up 0.01 to 53.27 while the AMEX market index fell 0.18 to 110.63.
