Two Youthful Bandits Rob Express Messenger Loot

Two young robbers held up the express messenger on the Chicago and Alton Lincoln Limited between Joliet and Chicago. They obtained less than 150 dollars, according to W. E. Two armed men boarded the Joliet to Chicago Lincoln Limited express and robbed the car of cash and valuables possibly totaling 2400 to 20000 dollars. They forced the express messenger to open the safe and escaped after placing guards on the car floor.

Execution set for Ernest Walker in Durham murder case

RALEIGH April 7 AP Ernest Walker a Durham negro convicted of first degree murder of another negro will be electrocuted April 22 by affirmance of the lower court judgment. The law provides for electrocution on the third Friday after affirmance and the court upheld the World War veterans act enabling two million dollar loans to veterans on farm lands.

Sanford April 7 AP The trial of four alleged Slayers of Sheriff James L Turner of Lee County opened with two jurors needed to reach 12. The state has one of 184 peremptory challenges left.
