Two Men Sentenced By Court
Two men received higher court terms and added Municipal Court time this week. Sylvester Quick 54 of Leonard Street was given 18 months in Superior Court for assault with a deadly weapon and six more months plus three drunkenness charges in Municipal Court to run concurrently with the higher court sentence. Grady Dunlap Jr. 34 of English Street drew six months active and 12 months suspended on two larceny charges in Superior Court and received 90 days in Municipal Court on two drunkenness charges and a bad check count, with two months concurrent with the Superior Court judgment. Quick’s Municipal Court assault stemmed from a March knife attack on Nathan Green. The article notes Dunlap’s prior docket issues and that the 12 month suspended term carried a good citizen condition. The piece ends with a Texas size comparison joke.
