Kennedy notes 13000 Soviets remain in Cuba after departures

President Kennedy said 9000 Soviet personnel left Cuba since November with about 4000 more in the past six weeks and estimates 12000 to 13000 still reside there. Flags in shipper bundle found with rags for Germany

U S customs probe opened after a Shenandoah Pa firm shipped a bundle of rags to Germany intended as shoeshine cloths was found to include many U S flags. Rep John Murphy said the flags were discovered when the bundle was opened on a pier aboard the American Pilot bound for Germany on March 31. The proper disposal is burning.

Cape Canaveral Fla AP final performance figures show the fourth Saturn test last week was near perfect. NASA said the eight engine power plant worked as expected though one inboard engine was shut down after 100 seconds to simulate failure.
