Mrs Myers and her daughter Patty hosted a bridal shower for Miss Ellen Farlowe at their Steele Street home. Farlowe will wed Floyd Evans on May 5 at Calvary Methodist church with Ellen’s sister Mrs W E Myers as bridesmaid and Patty as junior bridesmaid. The event included bingo bridge, a carnation corsage for the honoree, and an electric percolator as a gift, with about twenty five guests and floral arrangements in apple blossoms and yellow.

Duo Pianists Morley and Gearhart to Close 1950 51 Series
The High Point Community Concerts Association ends its season on April 12 with duo pianists Virginia Morley and Livingston Gearhart, who began their collaboration in France and have performed in Paris and New York. The organization begins its member drive April 23, led by Mrs. Frank Wood, with plans to fund next season’s concert slate through renewed memberships. Checks go to treasurer S. C. Kirkman and are mailed to Dr. N. M. Harrison. Gearhart and Morley, natives of the United States, studied with Casadesus and Boulanger and have performed with Fred Waring since 1943, including arrangements for many Waring performances.
