Archdale Friends Meeting hosts evangelistic services starting tomorrow through Wednesday led by Rev Willie Frye of Goldsboro Friends Meeting. Frye delivers 11 a.m. and 7 30 p.m. messages with music each night featuring Joseph Gamble and Trinity High Glee Club.
Thomasville parish Rich Fork Baptist Church announces a week of revival services led by Rev Woodrow W. Hill. He served as Air Force chaplain in World War II and has pastored four churches in North Carolina and Virginia. The revival begins Sunday at 7 30 p m with a church nursery provided by ladies led by Mrs Barbara Smith.
Revival services begin tomorrow at First Pilgrim Holiness Church on W Holly Hill Road and run nightly at 7 30 p m through April 12. Evangelist Dr H M Couchenour of Wilmore Kentucky and song evangelist Rev J W Stiles of Bethel Wesleyan Hendersonville will lead. Rev Mr Stiles a Gastonia native and noted soloist. Dr Fred Hill is pastor. Nursery provided nightly.
First Baptist Church opens its revival series tomorrow with Dr James Langley of Washington as evangelist. Langley, pastor of Pennsylvania Avenue Baptist Church in the capital, will lead services starting 11 a m. with music directed by Cliff Christian Jr. Revival runs April 9 with daily 7 30 a m and 7 30 p m services.
Brentwood Presbyterian Church announces a Sunday to Wednesday special event led by Rev. C. Linwood Cheshire Jr. of Greensboro. The theme is The Church in the War with 11 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. services daily and talk-back sessions after each evening service.
Tomorrow at Emerywood Baptist Church a high attendance Sunday school day and the final revival services will be held. Promoters include Sunday school superintendent Dr. Max Sink, Roy Culler Jr., and T. L. Ling erfeld. The revival evangelist is Dr. Claud.
Liberian Bishop S Trowen Nagbe of the Methodist Church will tour the Western North Carolina Conference for 14 days. He will discuss the George W Harley Memorial Fund to honor Dr Harley for Liberia service from 1926 to 1960 and its planned uses including a mission airplane and a community center. The visit includes a luncheon at First Methodist with Bishop Earl G Hunt and conference leaders.
Rev. D. R. Matherlee of Findlay Ohio will lead a series of revival meetings at Evangelical Wesleyan Church on Carolina Avenue from April 5 to 16. The nightly services start at 7 30 p m with Rev C E Downs pastor stating the schedule.
The These Things Remain revival starts tomorrow at Peoples Baptist Church 712 S Hamilton St with Rev Lloyd Garner hosting evangelist Dr J C Canipe of Boone and Lineberger of Forest City. Services nightly at 7 30 through the week feature music by Lineberger and note Canipe's noted leadership.
Evangelist Rev Wayne Chelette of Canton Ohio leads revival services at E Green Drive Church of God. Pastor Rev Nathaniel C Jones says services start at 7 30 p m daily and run through April 9.
Dr. James M. Efird, associate professor of Biblical studies at Duke Divinity School, will serve as supply pastor at Forest Church starting tomorrow. He will continue in this role until a permanent pastor is called.
