Remark on security money paid by Hickory businessman
Within the past year the late A A Shuford of Hickory said to friends he had paid out about 40000 in security money for persons he had endorsed. The practice, though large here, is common as a toll on many businessmen who must endorse for friends and sometimes pay. Hugh Reynolds of Iredell noted this in a remark.
