Reception honors Abel A. Shuford U D C chapter
Friday afternoon June 11 Mrs Ben Seagle hosted the United Daughters of the Confederacy chapter at her home. About forty charter members attended from Lenoir and nearby. Family members and local veterans recalled Civil War memories including Capt. P J Johnson of Co K 35th NC Regiment and his brother Dr J T Johnson. The event featured relics, songs, and a note of Salisbury monument unveiling, with home spun refreshments.
