Remembering William Ellis Hickory business luminary

As one who knew the late W A Ellis in his prime I speak of a man famed in Hickory as a safe business partner. He avoided speculation and moved only after certainty, yet committed with energy once convinced. A loyal, caring man, he supported friends, cared for the vulnerable, and endured illness with his wife by his side. He married the daughter of Andy Shuford and left two daughters, Mott and Simpson, who mourn his loss as does the community. Rev J C Moser’s congregation offered a note of sympathy on Tuesday night.
