Death of Mr. Robert Partee Matheson in Taylorsville
Alexander County records the death of Robert Partee Matheson at his Taylorsville home after months of feeble health. A lifelong resident with a brief stay in Le Noir, he once served in the state legislature and was widely esteemed as a gentleman and friend to many. Zelaya’s reference to side whiskers adds a dated note. Mr J P Thompson marked his 80th birthday recently with 45 to 50 guests, noting him as a long trusted figure with wide connections in the county.
