Death of D R Moore in Catawba County
Kyne Moore an aged resident of Catawba County died Saturday afternoon at his home on the Statesville road near Buffalo Shoals. He was 94. Survived by brother J Moore and sister Sallie Clark of Iredell County. Funeral by Rev. A G Loftin Sunday at 11 at residence, interment in family burying ground.

Miss Lula Winkler Dies at 16 in West Hickory
Miss Lula Winkler daughter of Mr and Mrs A B Winkler died at her parents home in West Hickory Tuesday afternoon after a two week typhoid illness. She was sixteen. Interment was held at Winkler's Church Wednesday at 3 PM conducted by Rev E O Smithideal of the West Hickory Methodist Church.

Editor John M. Reece Dies at Greensboro Home
John Martin Reece editor and publisher of the Greensboro Evening Patriot died at his Greensboro home after a ten week illness. He was 67 and had been in the newspaper business for many years. the funeral was held Wednesday.

Two crashes yield injuries and a fatal crash near Kittrell
Mrs W C Riley of Concord and Mrs Joseph of Asheville were slightly hurt when their auto plunged over a 40 foot embankment Saturday night. In Kittrell a train strike on the cross near a farm killed a mother and baby, with the husband severely hurt and a 5 year old son slightly injured. John Green was arrested in Brone last week, accused of attempting to kill his stepchild by throwing it against a wall and using carbalic acid.
