Graded Schools Open Sept 5 in Hickory District

The Hickory schools will open September 5 with text books on hand to avoid delays. Last year teachers return, new course additions between grades five and six, focused drills in reading writing spelling arithmetic and English. Health board requires vaccination proof for admission, with certificates or physician cards. A full list of returning teachers and grades is provided.

Warren Convicted of Criminal Assault at Morganton Court

Warren Convicted of criminal assault upon Miss Bessie Church at Morganton court this week. Sentence of five years imposed Wednesday. Prosecution by J. S. Spainhour and A. A. Whitener. Defense by R. Hickory Pounds for C N W Shops in City Visit
