A plea urges M. S. Hershey to install a town clock that rivals London’s Big Ben. The clock would toll thrice daily and guide workers, students, and residents, offering musical hours, night readability, and a public time regulator for the town and surrounding area.
The Hershey Band led by Prof. S J Feese won top state honors for size and musical quality. They boast thirty five or more members and a champion jumbo bass drum in the parade. The Lebanon papers praise their evenings of varied repertoire and predict more musical treats through winter and spring.
A local notice praises Chestnuts Jacob Page for recovering from two weeks of rheumatism. The shop announces a fresh supply of chestnuts claiming curative powers and offers them for coins. A smiling solicitor is seen carrying a chestnut until it shines, while remarks about facial hair are also noted.
The town welcomes Mr. T. H. Black a barber from Lancaster with prior experience. He is praised as a first class shaver though not a Shaver and is urged for hearty public support. The notice notes beard wearers may ignore the item.

Mrs Sarah Kauffman died early Sunday at 2 30 am after a paralytic stroke. She had lived in Hershey for half a century and would have turned 88 later this month. Surviving are daughter Mrs John Rudy and Miss Louisa Kauffman, funeral held Wednesday at Hummelstown Lutheran Church with interment in Hummelstown cemetery.
