Hershey Plant Expansion Plans Along Pike and Mansion Rise
The plan calls for a 25 to 30 foot parking lane through the pike with a street car line on either side, bordered by grass and shrubs. Cement sidewalks, lawns, and shrubbery edge the pike with a golf house nearby, rock blasting and filling where needed, plus a large enlargement of the chocolate plant southeast of the grounds. Across the pike space remains for another structure, creating a balanced layout, and northeast from the west hilltop stands Mr. M S Hershey’s private mansion amid extensive lawns. An imposing limestone frame for bulb and plant storage will rise on his hillside grounds. The work is being pushed toward realization.
