Pleasant Hershey Inspectors Tour New York Dairy District
A Hershey Chocolate Company party led by J A Balsbaugh and colleagues from Hershey toured New York dairy country starting November 1. They visited Albany and Edmeston, saw Holstein herds averaging high milk yields, and noted a 124 pound cow record. They observed large mangel wurzel and sugar beet crops per acre and farms around 120 acres with 39 to 60 cows. The trip, cut short by rain and snow, was documented by Geo E Copenhaver.
