Farmers To Hold Third Annual Show In Hershey

Following a Dauphin County Agricultural Extension Association meeting at Hershey High School plans were laid for the third annual lower Dauphin County Corn Potato and Poultry Show. About 25 farmers attended with F B Snavely presiding and R R Burtner assisting. The show is planned for late November in the Hershey Department Store storeroom with Finance Poultry Potato and Corn committees named. The event aims to be a farmers show and relies on county farmers cooperation with a slogan A greater show than last year. Premium lists will be issued soon.

Bazaar at Trinity Lutheran Church on Nov 21

A bazaar and sale of fancy articles will be held in the basement of Trinity Lutheran Church on Wednesday afternoon and evening November 21. Handmade needlework linens laces baked goods and other articles will be offered at low prices with many Christmas gift ideas. Hershey Men Win Prizes at Lebanon Hallowe'en Parade

Lebanon staged a Hallowe'en parade with prizes awarded to 'Tude Brinker and Paddy Miller. Brinker wore a bear suit and Miller acted as the trainer Pedro Fasciati. Judges gave them first prizes valued at 400,000 German marks and a box of cigars. When asked about returning next year, Brinker replied positively not.

Hershey Schools Make Junior Red Cross Drive Weeklong

The Schools of Derry Township launch their annual Junior Red Cross drive to raise funds for local and broader charitable work. About 20 000 pupils across 176 buildings participate. 25 cent membership or any amount supports hot lunches first aid kits glasses and aid for crippled children and disaster relief.

Masquerade Dance at Hershey Men's Club Friday

The Hershey Men's Club hosts a monthly masquerade dance Friday evening on the gym floor with music by the Hershey Troubadours. Admission is 25 cents for dancers and 10 cents for non dancers, with cakes candy and cider for sale. The event aims to offer local youths a home town dance option and encourage a large crowd.

Jiggs Win Over Maggies In High School Subscription Drive

The Jiggs defeat the Maggies in a two team contest to sell Ladies' Home Journal subscriptions for the Athletic Association. Final tally 187 to 170 with total subs rising to 559 after late submissions. Top sellers were Sando Magrini with 20 and Beatrice Algers with 16. prizes include Conklin Fountain Pens.

Hershey Volunteer Fire Co. Reports Fair Profit and Purchases

At the Hershey Volunteer Fire Co monthly meeting the fair grossed 2030.80 dollars and plans were set to pay off 515 dollars on the Packard fire engine. The group approved 1000 dollars for a certificate of deposit and discussed buying chairs tables a cedar chest and a uniform program with 4.75 costs for a hat belt and shirt. Uniforms will be paid for by members with a full refund on return.

Hershey Men's Club Promotes Fitness and Community

The Hershey Men's Club offers a gym with a running track, weights, and indoor courts, plus a 40 by 20 foot swimming pool and showers. Mr. Hershey Returns Home From Europe

Mr. Hershey, after months in Europe, landed in New York aboard the Leviathan arriving Saturday evening. He spent most of his time in France and Switzerland and returns in splendid health and vigor. All are glad to have him home.
