Burkholder Ebersole Couple Wed in Hummels Town

Mise Myra Harriet Ebersole and John Michael Burkholder were married at Zion Lutheran Church Hummels Town on Wednesday October 25 at 2 PM. Rev M LeRoy Wachter officiated. They honeymooned at Niagara Falls and Buffalo and will live in Hummelstown after November 1.

Bake Sale by Dialoma Ladies at Holy Trinity Church

The Dialoma Ladies Bible Class of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church will set up a bake sale in the market house on Saturday November 4 offering pies cakes bread candy and other baked dainties. Proceeds go to church activities and charity.

Hershey Grove Expands Woodmen Circle Group Growth

D. J. Kenney, district manager, reports Hershey Grove No 221 has grown to 52 members since its August 4 1921 founding with a new class initiated October 24 including Mrs Pearl Trump Miss Lottie Williams and others. Officers are listed. Woodmen of the World notes its charitable distributions exceed 150000000 to widows and children and 3000000 in disability benefits.

500 Card Party Well Attended

On Monday evening a large audience attended the Hershey Mothers Club second monthly card party at the Hershey Tea House in aid of the Hershey Kindergarten. Prizes were awarded to six winners and one consolation, with future parties set for the last Monday of each month.

Last Friday during chapel Antig notta Bilotta from the junior class played a piano solo and Arthur Materazzi performed a Clarland solo. Miss Burna supervised the music and accompanied both numbers. The student body enjoyed the performances.

Firemen's Fair Declared a Great Local Success

The Firemen's Fair closed with about 3800 admissions and 1200 in the treasury. Committee members praised volunteers, noted limited Hershey turnout, and highlighted popular events including a masquerade, boxing match, Hershey Boys concert, and Palmyra Girls Band performances. Elizabeth Copenhaver won the most popular girl prize.

Smyrna aid drive urged by Hershey schools

Hershey schools call for clothing donations to aid Smyrna survivors. The drive asks residents to sort unused garments such as dresses coats underwear and shoes and have them cleaned mended and ready. Collectors will visit homes Wednesday Thursday and Friday. call the principal to arrange pickup.

Mrs Emma Gable dies at 71 at Meadowbrook Farm

Mrs Emma Gable wife of Henry Gable died Wednesday October 25 at her daughter Berlah Dun dore home Meadowbrook Farm southeast of Hershey. She was 71 and the death was from complications of diseases. Services were held at the house Saturday at 8 30 conducted by Rev M LeRoy Wachter Trinity Lutheran Church. Interment at Hains Church Berks County with Rev Lemback Reformed Church officiating. Wm Henry Palmyra was the funeral director.
