Hershey Park in Central Pennsylvania plans its annual Decoration Day opening on Friday May 30 with new improvements and a full schedule. Fred Pronto's orchestra will perform jazz and classics, The Cat and Canary will be staged, and the Syershey baseball team faces West Lebanon. The park adds a new grandstand and bleachers, the Giant Roller Coaster operates, dancing in the pavilion, swimming and boating, a miniature trolley runs all day, and the merry-go-round is renovated. Meals served in the large restaurant, with tables on the veranda, encourage families to spend the day from open to close.

Saturday and Sunday public tours drew over a thousand visitors to the new Hershey Hospital on Chocolate Avenue opposite Hershey Cafe. Miss Mary E. Powell of New York, experienced in metropolitan hospitals, led the demonstrations praising modern equipment and careful design. The facility includes triplex dimmer lighting, cork floors, metal dressers, advanced beds, a fully equipped operating room adjacent to an X ray and sterilizing area, and a separate isolation building on Patt's Hill for contagious diseases. Doctors may use the operating room freely, and the hospital aims to be a humane, student of service with direct physician oversight and minimal rules.
