Monroe County Boy Scouts Pass Through on Washington Trip
Twenty Mountainhome scouts from Barrett Township Monroe County Pennsylvania travel by auto and truck loaded with camping gear toward Washington in an eight day six hundred mile trip. They will visit Harrisburg for Forest Guide Badges and were guests of the Men's Club at their stop. Rev H S Dando the Scout Master leads the troop with aid from the Pocono Forestry Association.

Funeral services for little Carl McCorkle
Funeral services for two year old Carl McCorkle were held at Spring Creek Church of the Brethren with Rev. Frank Carper officiating. Interment followed at the church cemetery. Carl died June 13 from a skull fracture after a May 27 fall. an operation at Good Samaritan Hospital failed to save him. He was born January 10, 1920, and survived by parents Mr. and Mrs. Joseph McCorkle and a sister Irene.
