Hershey captured two wins in a three game set over two days Friday and Saturday. The morning contest featured strong pitching by Hinkle and an 11 hit Hershey effort including Shaub’s homer, while the afternoon thriller saw a ninth inning rally produce a 2 run victory for Hershey. Hershey Park Opening Day Draws Vast 1919 Crowd
Nearly 25 000 visitors from the surrounding area crowded Hershey Park on opening day of the 1919 season. Trains streetcars and cars were packed as guests enjoyed dancing pavillions the Banjo Saxo Orchestra and amusements including the carousel miniature railway boating and ball games. Hershey defeated Lebanon in both games 10 5 and 4 3 with the morning contest ending after seven innings.

20 MULE TEAM TO BE IN TOWN NEXT TUESDAY
The Borax company 20 mule team led by Borax Bill Ira Moon will pass Hershey on Tuesday June 10 between 12 45 and 1 00 noon on its return trip from California to the Atlantic seaboard. The outfit arrived in Hershey yesterday and will perform a half hour stop with singers and comedians accompanying the wagons.

Ralph Fiore Forces Mixed Fate After Arresting Pair
Ralph Fiore, Hershey’s custodian of the law, apprehended a 16 year old girl and 21 year old man fleeing from authorities. The girl and her partner proved they had just married in Hagerstown two days earlier. Fiore released the couple on train passage after hearing the girl’s troubling story of parental abuse and deciding they were justified in eloping.

Demobilization Service at Derry Church
