Smokestack Circus and Bucolic Daydreams
A column mixes rural vignettes with memories of open spaces and simple life. Readers recall farmers, blacksmiths, and farm scenes, while lighter snatches critique modern life and a playful poke at a newspaper writer.
Invention schemes and rural musings echo in a quirky memo
A fragmented 1920s style column proposes odd schemes like a human potato sprayer to unleash sneezing powered pest control and lampoons readers with jokes about film plots and garden tricks. It mixes satire on invention with personal asides and reader witticisms, ending mid note with a tease for continuation.
