The Hershey High Alumni Association held its annual banquet on Friday May 20 at the Hershey Cafe with fifty three attendees including members and guests. Highlights included addresses by Irvin Sleaser Alan and Lloyd Gilman class president, soprano solo by Mrs Martha Fasnacht and remarks by Elmer Erb and Clarence Ulrich the latter the school’s first graduate. Music by Nova Wiley and Merle Smith accompanied the program followed by dancing and cards.

Samples of agricultural lime tested by the State Department of Agriculture chemist show calcium oxide and magnesium oxide below standard. Mrs Maria Sloat dies at 86 in Hershey home
Mrs Maria Sloat aged 86 died Wednesday morning at the home of her daughter Mrs Rohrer Snavely in Hershey after a Sunday death. She was born July 28 1835 and lived much of her life in York. Surviving are two brothers Rev Henry Wisher and C Christian Fisher both of Lancaster two daughters Kathryn Shorts Lancaster and Rohrer Snagely Hershey two sons John Sloat York and William Sloat Hershey. A private service will be held Friday June 2 at 11 am at the East Caracns Ave home with later services in Reformed Mennonite Church Lancaster and interment in Longenecker Cemetery. Funeral Director William Henry Palmyra.
