The Around Helpers Class of United Brethren Sunday School Hershey held a Paxtang Park outing on Wednesday with games and good eats. Mrs Sehiichter led the event with Mildred Frehn Kathryn Hers Josephine Gelling Esther Walmer Grace Smith Gladys Chriat Gladys Kohr and Gladys Gockley attending.
The Manhattan Players at the Park Theatre draw crowds as weeks pass with strong productions. This week features The Girl I Love and Edgar Selwyn's Nearly Married with Dick Ward in a leading role. Upcoming offerings include Help Wanted and Marching through Georgia, with scenic design by Charles Edwards and praise for the troupe's performance.
Final arrangements are made for the annual Penn State Alumni outing at Hershey Park on Saturday July 31. A 2 to 3 pm mass meeting will feature four speakers including retiring president Dr Edwin Earl Sparks and trustee leader Walton Mitchell. The day includes reunions noon chicken dinner field stunts 4 to 6 pm baseball between grade and undergrads swimming concert and dancing attendance last year about 500 and expected to double.
Hershey plans a model vocational school with state support covering two thirds of teacher salaries. Eight teaching vacancies strain the district as it prepares to admit beginners aged six by December 31 1920 and to house two extra grades in crowded facilities.
Dr Scott a practipedic expert demonstrated at the Hershey Department Store with Dr William M Scholl orthopedics expert. More than thirty people were examined and fitted with curative foot appliances. Management hopes for Mr Scott to return in October. John Smith department manager attends post graduate practipedic course in New York.
Hershey employees and their families will travel to Maple Grove in Lancaster County on Sunday July 30 for a day of activities. Four cars depart Hershey Square at 7 45 a m and return from Maple Grove at 7 30 p m. A participation program ensures everyone can join in and have a true enjoyable time.
The Laundry will close on Friday so the asn branch of the Department Store may picnic with the store employees at Maple Grove. All work will be properly taken care of and delivered as usual before the week ends.

Harry Milton Keeney, an operating engineer at the Chocolate factory for thirteen years, died of typhoid fever on Saturday July 24 after a ten day illness. Survived by wife and two children Martha and Clinton, he was a respected member of P O S of A I C O F W O W M W o A and United Brethren Church. Funeral services were held July 27 conducted by Rev. R R Butterwick, with burial in Gravel Hill cemetery Palmyra. Pallbearers were Irvin Grubb, A C White, Claude Curry, George Schroll, John Hummel, Calvin Bentz. funeral director was C H Smith.
Mrs. Mary A. Shields of Gettysburg announces the engagement of her daughter Miss Jane Frances Shields to James B. Leithiser. Miss Shields teaches art at Camp Curtain Junior High School in Harrisburg.
The Girls Orchestra from the Odd Fellows Orphans Home for Boys and Girls at Sunbury performed a one hour program to a large audience on Sunday afternoon. The under sixteen musicians earned loud applause and generous donations passed for the home, supporting orphaned youth.
Hershey Post No. 386 American Legion held its regular monthly meeting on Tuesday night July 27. A joint committee with the Hummelstown Post was formed to plan the Dauphin County Convention and will meet August 4 in Hummelstown. Members listed and medal distribution details announced for ex service men at 44 West Chocolate Ave on August 2 and 9.
All Hershey Girls Reserve members meet at 9 30 a m Monday August 2 at the Y W C A for a hike to Valley Glen. Lunch to be brought and a camp site to be chosen there with announcements in next week paper watch for them. Be on time.
