99 Freight Cars On Tracks Here In Hershey
On Monday 99 freight cars stood on Hershey tracks carrying supplies and machinery for Hershey interests. Over 60 cars served the Hershey Chocolate Company as 200,000 pounds of milk flow daily to the plant. The Philadelphia and Reading Railway reports July records broken with heavy incoming and outgoing traffic and the plant running at full capacity with new wrapping and longitudinal machines.

The Hershey flower beds show peak bloom with over 200000 plants on display. The Lancaster City and County Gardeners and Employees Association will visit with their wives and friends to view the gardens and hold their annual gathering. Special cars are planned for the trip.

Clara Hess Hurt In Park Avenue Car Accident
Clara Hess, daughter of Mr and Mrs J C Hess, suffered a long gash under her left eye after a car driven by a woman entrant into the Hess garage struck the door and threw her against the windshield. Five stitches were required. Dr M L Hershey treated the wound.

The Hershey Sunday School picnic brings together the Presbyterian United Brethren and Lutheran churches at Penryn Park on Tuesday August 8. Adults pay 65 cents children under 12 pay 35 cents. Train departs Hershey at 7 30 a m returning from the park in the evening. Dr H G Mumma chairs the arrangements and aims to offer a day of outdoor sports including a baseball feature.
