Hershey Park Hosts Record Fourth Crowds
Twelve thousand people filled Hershey Park on the Fourth of July for a day of family picnics and diversions. Attractions, from boats to a crystal clear pool and dancing pavilions, drew crowds with concerts by Professor Meese and the Gardner-Vincent players. Fireworks capped a safe, well attended celebration with no incidents.

Industrial School Adds Gym Equipment and New Trades Wing
The Industrial School installed gym gear including mats, dumb bells, bean bags, nets and bars. A new mechanical department will relocate to updated quarters housing wood working, metal spinning, foundry, tin smith, blacksmith, electrical, brick laying, masonry and plumbing. Hershey’s Consolidated Public School Opens as National Standard
Hershey’s M. S. Hershey Consolidated Public School in Derry Township will be completed this year. The massive Lancaster brick and limestone building serves 600 pupils, with room for 850, offering free tuition, books, and distance transport. The project consolidated seven small schools into one modern facility with advanced classrooms, science labs, a large High School, and a savings program for students.

Hershey Y W C A sends girls to Nepahwin Camp
Hershey club members will send several girls to Camp Nepahwin in Caton Pennsylvania from July 18 to August 1. Other plans include a monthly Y W C A meeting at 7 PM with a watermelon feast and hikes, plus a delegation to the Eastern City Conference in Silvay Bay, Inkacoors New York from July 21. Proceeds from a bazaar at Merahay Market fund a week at Stoverdale in August.

Hershey Fire Dept Receives Swatara Donation for Curry's Mill Fire
At a Hershey Volunteer Fire Co meeting a note from Swatara residents thanked the department for saving property during the Curry's Mill fire on May 30. A check for 46.50 covered extra service by Chief Conrad and five men, with 28.50 to be added to the treasury. a list of donors totaling 85.00 accompanied the letter, and fire bills were 28. The Hershey Fire Department serves about 150 members and drew a strong turnout.
