Hershey Chocolate Company will notify 1050 employees of a twenty percent bonus on wages for the past year. Distribution will occur in about two weeks. The plan aims to boost worker welfare and create a reliable, long serving staff. The eligible list rose to above eighty percent this year.

The Camp Fire Girls plan two short sketches to be shown at Thorshay Central Cheater. Proceeds will benefit local summer camps and youth activities.
An army of workers builds Hershey’s new tabernacle for the June arrival of 50 000 Brethren, with a 262 by 155 foot main auditorium, 71 feet high, seating 5 000, and extensive support rooms. The steel and hollow tile building will include a 62 foot entrance, 18 doors, a 60 by 13 foot stage, a 250 seat choir loft, and second floor apartments. concrete foundations start in February as the project aims for a comprehensive modern convention auditorium in the country.
Matto Gaetano a Reading Railroad worker was killed near the new subway when he walked onto the west bound track as a Lebanon shifter engine 838 passed at 7 25 pm. Identified by Mgr Stuckey, his body was taken to Hummelstown and an inquest held. He leaves a wife and two children in the old country and relatives in Philadelphia.
The marriage of Miss Helen T Bradley daughter of Colonel and Mrs Walter T Bradley to Colonel Samuel D Foster of Pittsburg occurred at 7 PM Monday at the brides parents home 1602 North 15th Street Philadelphia. The Rev Dr William H Main officiated. The bride was attended by Mrs Eugene Pranklin OConor as matron of honor and flower girls Elizabeth Balty and Lea Garthwaite with Col Andrew Berger as war host man. A large reception followed and the couple will reside at 21 South Front Street Harrisburg after a wedding trip, receiving after March 1.

Lebanon High School staged She Stoops to Conquer at Hershey Central Theater to a large audience. Cast included Mary Harbaugh Jennie McGowan Helen Schaak Miriam Yoder Clement Scott Donald Behney Raymond Kline Robert Boughter Paul Kirchoff Peter Gamber Karl Albert Luther Longe necker Russel Hartman and John Heilman. all performed well.
The Bible School Association of Holy Trinity Lutheran church elected officers last Sunday. Names include Pastor I OC Krapf as Superintendent and Dr HW G Mumma as Assistant Superintendent, Norman Z Stahle as Secretary, Myra Anna Maulfair and Mary Maulfair as Librarians, Daniel B. Yost as Treasurer, and Mya J. Edward Fields as organiste. Enrollment in good standing reached 110, up 87 percent from last year, with attendance up 88 percent. The sixth anniversary will be observed February 7 with special features at 9:15 AM, followed by Anniversary Day Vespers at 7:80 PM. the Bible School will participate in the service.
William Kopp, a brakeman from Hummelstown, was injured in Rutherford yards of the Philadelphia and Reading Railway after a fall from a car while at work. He was taken to Harrisburg Hospital where his foot was amputated.
Dauphin County directors plan a two day winter midwinter session in Hershey on February 12 and 13. A W Snavely leads arrangements with W F R Murrie Frank B Snavely Ezra F Hershey James B Millard and D Clark assisting. The meeting will include addresses programs and round tables for about 200 members. Dauphin County has 39 districts 400 teachers and 11 000 pupils.
The YWCA will present the new copyrighted play Bibi the Comedy of Toys as its spring star performance. Rehearsals with Miss Burch begin February first, featuring twelve principal roles and a large cast from 60 to 200. Community support is urged to ensure a successful, well attended production.
The Young Men's 600 Club met Tuesday at Hershey Cafe and elected officers for the new term. Bennett was chosen president, Reiley vice president, N A Deveney treasurer, and Ira Mumma secretary. Entertainment chairmanship went to Krause with Jones and Sollenberger as members. The club, with 20 members, is thriving. After the business session, cards were played and refreshments served. The next meeting is planned for Wednesday evening.
A Hershey Men’s Club lyceum lecture on Panama and the San Francisco atv was held Monday night to a fine audience with warm applause. The club’s course this season is giving great satisfaction and promises more excellent numbers.
A Sunday afternoon union service at Hershey Central Theater drew a wide crowd from nearby towns and beyond. Dr. J Liniwood Eisenberg spoke on not resting on past achievements, urging daily effort, with music by the Men’s Chorus and Glee Club to follow. Next week features Charles Dickens readings by William S. Battis of Chicago.
The Talking Pictures at Hershey Central Theater were moved from Monday to Saturday due to Panama pictures. Regular admission is 10 cents and the show starts at 8 o’clock.
The Hershey Volunteer Fire Company formed in 1907 to maint ain fire apparatus and support, later moving into a new Caracas Avenue building. Leaders include President William Brinker and Chief John Conrad. the 120 member group served at fires in Hershey and nearby towns, notably in 1912 and 1914.
The Y W C A plans basketball games between two teams with public attendance. Admission is ten cents. Dates and player names will be announced later.
