The Hershey Olivers beat the Gettysburg Collegians 40 to 29 in a well played game at Hershey. The team values teamwork over individual stars and plans a big matchup next week against St Joseph of Lancaster. Also notes a wrestling result where Kid Moyer defeated Kid Boyer two falls to one.
On a Wednesday evening 21 Hershey Industrial School boys visited the Hershey Men’s Club gym for their first session. Pop Leibfried praises the group as eager for drills and new stunts. After about thirty minutes they showered and swam in a cold pool of 58 degrees, with plans for warmer future water.
In Lewistown Olivets defeated the home team 35 to 31 as Pop Leib led the charge and Stude baker provided support. The Olivets have nine wins this season all by opponents and will face St Josephs of Lancaster next. Buckis jumps center while Trees Wendgerer guard.
Hershey High School girls and boys basketball teams lost to Mt Joy High School on the Hershey Men’s Club floor with scores 14-3 for the girls and 23-11 for the boys. The piece notes a shortage of Hershey rooters and urges more student support for the players.
The Men's Club floor hosts a Saturday game against Oberlin High at 2 00 PM with both teams expected to contest fiercely. The home team aims for a win in a strong Saturday matchup.

Frantz Zinner welcomes three large ostriches to Hershey Park Zoo. He plans they will reach peak condition for a summer display and hopes for more additions to build a top Pennsylvania zoom.
The Hershey Red Cross Rooms will be open Thursdays from 10 00 A M to 5 00 P M. A larger attendance is needed to meet work on schedule. members are asked to attend the next three or four sessions or have tasks sent home by Mrs. Ross Esbenshade. Additional sewing machines and loans are welcomed. any resident with a machine may contact a committee member to donate use with free collection and return.
The Y W C A held its regular monthly social on January 2 with an invocation by Rev. Taylor a piano solo by Ruth Ensing a vocal by Ruth Esben and a talk on National War Work by Miss Winifred Myers national secretary East Central Field.
