Hershey sales force reports from over thirty states and Canadian expansion show strong demand for Hershey products. Home office notes enthusiastic reports and larger orders than 1914, with factory equipment to meet the rise. The overall outlook declares 1915 a potential record breaker.
Mrs E M Hershey entertained a Saturday afternoon tea from 2 to 5 o clock at her home with tea served until 8. Mrs Snavely and Mrs Herr poured aided by Mrs Snyder Mrs Hills Mrs Cain and Misses Mary and Edith Walmer. Prizes at cards went to Mrs Penney a painted dish and to Mrs Nissley a violet basket. The pink decorations featured roses carnations and narcissus. Present were a long list of local ladies including Mrs F B Snavely Mrs H N Herr Mrs Ewing Cain Mrs J E Snyder Mrs J E Hills Miss Margaret Leithiser Miss Grace Beam Miss May Hershey Miss Bertha Leibhart Mrs C V Glynn and many others.
The Men's Chorus under W. J. L. Dubois nears readiness for Sunday afternoon services. Organist Miss Lottie Conrad from Derry Presbyterian Church has been secured as accompanyist. H. J. Krause, who has led piano, remains an active chorus member. Two good tenors are sought with applications to Mr. Dubois.
A cheerful sparrow wandered into the Hershey Press office in the park during a storm Tuesday. Frank Saylor tried to help by releasing it outside but it stayed, seeming to belong there. After the call ended the bird bowed and flew away across the park.
The Hershey Press announces a new Elizabethtown and Deodate Railway linking Hershey to Elizabethtown and Lancaster with a planned ninety minute schedule. Through cars, high safety and speed, and excursions to Hershey Park are noted as development proceeds.
Swatara River rose unusually high last week and again Tuesday, flooding fields and roads. Rivers overflowed, boats were swept away, and ice crops suffered while Spring Creek hit a record height with no damage. Gas plant smokestack fell at Palmyra and Hershey gas supply was affected.
Work rushes on a new calf barn for the Worshoyarm Company at Union Deposit occupying the old Holtalngor farm area. It aims to be one of Islaad's most modern structures with capacity for about 100 calves and a four week completion target by architect Jamon Putt.
A Hershey audience enjoyed a travelogue by Laurence D. Kitchell with hand colored slides and Glacier Park scenery. The event, sponsored by the Bureau of Commercial Economics and Great Northern Railway, drew high praise for Kitchell’s presentation and impact.
Last week the Biweekly Dancing Class held its stormy Wednesday session at the Park Pavilion. Despite heavy rain the group enjoyed fine music from pianist Francisco DeSchemendia and gathered members including Mr and Mrs Marvie Mr and Mrs Leithiser and several others. A proelenten dance is planned and expected to be the season’s most elaborate.
Sunday night service reminds Home that the last car from Tarminburg and Wummels town for Hershey arrives in a half hour earlier than other nights. The last Lebanon car stops here at 11:80 on Sundays. A new waiting room at Horahay nears completion, promising better accommodation for travelers.
The Young Women's Christian Association will hold its 26th annual meeting in the Hershey Central Theater on January 26. Report shows higher membership and new activities while eight board members will be elected. A speaker and moving pictures head a busy program with plans for April’s large charity play.
The Gospel Messenger notes Hershey Pa hosting the Church of the Brethren annual meeting in a cement and steel Auditorium under construction. It praises a Hershey Chocolate Company booklet from Hershey Pa detailing the business and the meeting location.
Inquiries for special rates to hear Billy Sunday prompt railroad officials to study the plan. The excursion would depart Hershey in the morning, reach Philadelphia by the afternoon meeting, and return after the night service. A reservation exists for travelers, with about half the regular fare, and interested persons should notify H R Maya at the station.

Dr John G Scorer of Philadelphia spoke on The Man Who Sold His Shadow praising right living and clean character as music and oratory drew praise. Next week Dr A W Lamar of Georgia delivers Christ’s Vision of a Man with a statewide circuit and Chautauqua backing.
Work begins next week on a new four mile road from Old Sand Beach Road to Torghey and Gravel Hill. Slag from Union Deposit furnaces will be used in the construction as a gift from Mr. M. B. Wore shey to the Township.
Due to the storm the Mothers' Meeting of Cuceaday is moved to next Wednesday in the kindergarten room of the M B Thersday Consolidated Public School. All mothers and members with children in kindergarten are invited.
The Hershey Laundry on Park Avenue highlights its extensive facilities and steam-powered operations with 3 washers, advanced ironers, and a hurricane dry room. Under J. E. Fied the 12-person staff performs a 12-step process from pickup to delivery, serving Hershey and neighboring towns with prompt workmanship.
Under Rev N L Linebaugh the Hershey church reports rapid growth with attendance over 200 Sunday morning and over 400 Sunday evening. Revival services draw large crowds and 27 conversions have occurred this period. Some foresee a move to central town location and a landmark design, though no decisions yet.
Engineer Jacob Enaminger of Hershey Farm No 6 suffered a fractured left collarbone when a skidding wagon overturned on a leg grade near Sand Beach. He was knocked unconscious, treated by Dr Hershey at George Drasalor's home, and later moved to Harrisburg hospital.
Jacob Page has built a strong reputation for raising fat hogs. During the butchering season he disposed of forty three hogs, slaughtering twenty one for his own use. His hogs averaged 28 pounds per head.
