Hershey Hero Returns from Over There
Grover Sheckard from Hershey came home New Year’s Day after serving in France with the 316th Infantry Company C. He survived the Argonne drives and Montfaucon assault, was wounded twice, and captured enemy machine gun nests during the push. He sailed home December 6 aboard the Mercury, arriving at Newport News and going to the Hampden old soldiers home.

Red Cross Knitters Told to Stack Needles After War
America s army of women knitters who did not cease work with the armistice have been ordered by the Red Cross to stack needles. An inventory shows sufficient reserve to meet needs of fighting men and relief commissions. Knitted articles now in the making will be finished and turned into 854 Red Cross chapters. More than 10 million items were made in the seventeen months before the war’s end.

Big Five To Start Schedule Tuesday
The Olivers, ex soldiers and reserves, extend their winning streak by beating Lebanon Big Five 29 to 23 Friday. This Friday they face the Royal Fire Co of Harrisburg as games begin at 8 00 o clock.
Change of Gym for YMCA Children
The YMCA children's rhythm class changes from Thursday morning to Thursday afternoon at the High School gym. The Saturday sessions move from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Other classes follow the new schedule funded by faithfulness and loyalty for the coming year.
