On Monday last Levi Zimmerman of Derry Church celebrated his 88th birthday with numerous visitors offering congratulations. He recalled selling the land for Hershey and spoke warmly of M. Hershey, noting the town’s rapid growth and his own long service as a church organizer and treasurer. He remains active, recalling canal work and local business, and admires Hershey’s development.

The Hershey Transit Company opened a new waiting room and renovated offices on the first floor of the former Hershey Fire Department building. The central location across from car stops, new ticket windows, and future telephone exchange improve service. The system expands with two Brill cars due mid March and another in April, a nineity minute Lancaster run, and new car barns planned in Lebanon and Hershey.

Exciting Accident Near Vian Involving Mrs Hanshue and Mrs Yingat
A horse driven wagon nearly toppled on a Saturday afternoon near Vian when the dinkey engine of a new trolley line frightened the horse. Mrs Hanshue escaped uninjured while Mrs Yingat was thrown to the wagon top and badly bruised. The horse bolted to Mo Yingat’s stable in Derry Church, then to the Industrial School engine for transport home.
