Hershey Central Industry and Chocolate Company completes a system to receive sugar directly from Cuban plantations in Central Hershey. The sugar travels by Hershey railroad to Havana and Key West, then to Hershey without intermediate handling.
The Holy Trinity Sunday School girls classes taught by Mrs Phoebe Whittle and Mrs William Hoy host a Washington Birthday Social and Entertainment Friday evening in the church basement. A pleasing program guarantees enjoyment for all with no admission fee though an offering will be taken: a cent per letter in George Washington's name and a penny per letter for each attendee's name if donated.
The election to fill the unexpired term of Edward E. Beidelman, newly elected Lieutenant Governor, will be held Tuesday February 25. Republican nominee is Frank P. Smith of Harrisburg and Democrat Vernon Fritz of Harrisburg is their candidate.
The Hershey girls traveled to Manheim last week for a basketball game that turned into a decisive 45 to 5 victory. Hershey’s defense held Manheim to only foul shots, while Myrtle Hershey scored nine baskets and Stuckey three, with both stars in the limelight.

The Patriotic Social by Derry Presbyterian Church featured games, musical numbers and recitations. Welcome was delivered by Rev. R. H. Taylor and the evening address by Rev. Howard Rodgers of Harrisburg. The program included solo, duet, readings and a children’s portion with songs and recitations.
