Dr Daniel R Hodgdon argues candy can be a wholesome energy source for children when made from clean ingredients and eaten in moderation. He warns against cheap penny candies and notes schools selling pure candy to support recess energy needs.
Hershey Park announces a summer program featuring high class vaudeville and feature films at the park theatre. The lineup includes three Keith vaudeville acts and a rotating feature film every two weeks.
Ray Conrad, a coal representative, says Hershey should see some hard coal shipments by early spring but nationwide anthracite shortages and delayed miner operations push adequate supply to around April. He cautions that relief before then is unlikely.
About a thousand people heard Rev H W Stough evangelist in Hershey High School auditorium on Monday evening. He argued America is in decline morally and urged a nation wide revival rooted in the Bible and family prayer. Rev C E Thompson led songs with Mrs Thompson as pianist and harpist. The meeting was organized by Rev James B MacClure with scripture read by Rev R AL Taylor and invocation by Rev A G Nye.
Ventriloquist Johnny Hines appears at Hershey Central Theatre on Saturday evening with showtimes at 6 30 and 8 20. He headlines with his blockhead family, using three and four dummies. A family friendly act promising lots of fun for children.

Fasnacht Day celebrated in Hershey as Shrove Tuesday with Germans and French traditions echoed. Local bakers reported demand at its peak, estimating about 10 000 fasnachts baked for the community and roughly three cakes per person.
The Hershey Central Theatre presents Fighting the Flames on Friday and Saturday February 19 and 20 at 6 30 and 8 30 with a star cast led by William Haines Dorothy Devore and David Torrence The fire melodrama features multiple fires dramatic rescues and a scaling ladder sequence highlighting action and thrills.
The Holy Trinity Lutheran Church youth of Lancaster prepare to travel to Sem manual Lutheran Church for the Second Annual Boys Conference. The program includes a 2 30 opening on The Liberty Boys of 26 with talks by conference youths and Rev M Hadwin Fisher. Frank Greenhawk will speak at the 6 o'clock banquet. Richard Mumma will discuss The Conquest of Love. About thirty boys will ride to Lancaster by church cars.
The Diakonia Ladies Bible class of Holy Trinity Lutheran Sunday School will hold their monthly business meeting at the home of Mrs Daniel S Graeff on Granada Avenue tonight at 7 30 o clock All members urged to attend to discuss important matters.
A Valentine party at the YWCA drew a good turnout with bouncy mood and hints of marriage fortunes. Miss Gurney announced ceiling lighting improvements to enable day workers to form basketball squads, asking interested girls to signal ready to play. The next department party will be held Tuesday night March 16.
The 16th anniversary of the Boy Scout organization was celebrated by Troop No 2 in Holy Trinity Lutheran Church basement. Scouts demonstrated knot tying fireman lift and bear carries Morse code Wig Wag semiphone messaging shadow plays and other drills before a large audience of guests and Wolf Cubs.
The Fox Filma production features Alma Rubens and Bert Lytell in principal roles. Alma plays a society butterfly who falls for an idealistic officer and changes her outlook. Cast includes Huntly Gordon Frank Keenan Vera Lewis Arthur Hoyt Herbert Rawlinson Carolynne Snowden in supporting parts.
Deputy Collector Charles H. Palmer will visit Uimmelstown on March 5 and 6 to assist taxpayers in filing 1926 income tax returns. He will also be at Hershey on March 8, 9, and 10 to help residents with tax filings.

The Tri Y Club gathered Tuesday to discuss How to Acquire Charm with a later stunt. Friday after school Blue Triangle Club planned a discussion on Deborah and games to follow. Last week the Big Club enjoyed a sleigh ride with Mr Eby from Palmyra, a bob sleigh trip to his home, and supper hosted by Mrs Seby before return.
The Hershey Port American Legion will join Holy Trinity Lutheran for Sunday evening vesper services. Pastor Rev. Paul M. Kinporta will deliver the sermon titled Onward Christian Soldiers with special music planned.
An Evening of Music by the Men's Bible Class of Holy Trinity Sunday School is set for Friday at 8 PM in the church. Soprano Mrs. Harnish pianist Esther Gingrich and cellist Hilda Gingrich perform a varied program. Proceeds defray concert expenses and audience attendance is encouraged by Hershey and area music lovers.
Hershey High School students from the junior and senior classes held a joint banquet at Chef's Place in Annville last Thursday evening. Myrle Smith and His Orchestra supplied music, while toastmaster John E. Gilman Jr led toasts. Notable moments included Sweet Adeline sung by Professor Angel W. Mathewson and Mr. George L. Palmgren. illness prevented president Martyn Herbst and vice president Beulah Shaffner from attending.

Kinports sermons include The Words of Christ from the Cross and The Figures of Christ with themes Why Doesn't God Kill the Devil and The Call of the Unsaved. An Easter Cantata by the choir will be performed Easter Sunday evening.
School authorities observe Washington's Birthday by closing on Monday February 22. Activities planned for the day will be presented the following Tuesday. Seventh Grade homerooms will organize the assembly and run the program. Visitors are welcome.

Names grouped by grade show students achieving highest marks under various teachers, including Mr. MacDonald and Miss Clemens. Notable entries include Mary Hummer, Ruth Taylor, June Eby, Catherine Bagehore, and Mary Taylor.
The American Legion Ladies' Auxiliary Post 386 will hold its regular monthly business meeting Friday at 7 30 in the Young Women's Christian Association recreation rooms. All members are urged to attend as important business will be discussed.
Mr and Mrs Christ Sternberger of W Derry Road marked their 38th wedding anniversary by hosting a road goose dinner on Sunday. Attending were Roy Sternberger and children Paul Pieraceer and children Charles Bothwell Katie Kunkel and Violet Sternberger.
