The Hershey Men's Club hosts a second Mid Winter Dance after the first sold out. Seven musicians from Phil Fisher's Peerless Orchestra will perform a lively medley, promising a crowded floor and a good time. Admission is 50 cents with refreshments available, and proceeds will aid the Hershey baseball team.
Universal’s Hunchback of Notre Dame screens at Hershey Central Theatre Friday and Saturday February 20 and 21. Lon Chaney stars as Quasimodo with Ernest Torrence Patsy Ruth Miller Nigel de Brulier Brandon Hurst Kate Lester and others in a Universal City produced classic lauded as Chaney’s finest work.

The John Elder Men’s Bible Class met at Irvin E. Slesser’s home on West Choccolate Avenue. Rev. R H Taylor was elected to represent the class at the Pennsylvania Adult Bible Class Federation in Harrisburg February 20 and 24. A $2.50 federation contribution was voted. Refreshments followed the hymns. The next meeting is March 9 with Rev. Taylor at the New Manse.
Dr. Formanova Novakova of Czechoslovakia visited the Hershey Industrial School and praised its home atmosphere. She noted the institution stands among the world's best in serving orphans and urged development of similar facilities.

In a Tuesday noon incident at a department store a man in a brown overcoat was detained by Officer Six Sixty Six after two suspicious men approached a new electric washer. One fled, the other, Hen Spangler of Mount Pleasant, was released after claiming innocence. no trace of the second man was found.

Mrs Herman Luckenbauge hosted a Feb 4 dinner revealing the engagement of Miss Thuldah Romain Schaeffer of Carlisle to Lt Allen Burt Elliott of Waterloo Iowa. They will wed soon and travel to Miami before settling in Waterloo Iowa. Miss Schaeffer previously worked at Hershey Chocolate Co. Elliott works in real estate in Waterloo.
Gloria Swanson stars in Manhandled produced by Allan Dwan, based on Frank Tuttle's adaptation of an Arthur Stringer story. Shown Saturday evening Feb 14 with 6 30 and 8 30 showings. Swanson plays a shop girl whose pursuit of fashion leads to scandal before learning true love matters more than luxury. The film features Tom Moore Lilyan Tashman and others in a lively cast with Ann Pennington and Brooke Johns.
W E Tobias reports from Atlantic City on Spring Styles shown by the Pennsylvania Shoe Retailers Association. Key items include Nacotan calf pumps with various strap styles, two tone patent and grey pumps, tan and patent options, blond satin and apricot satin pumps, white pumps, and higher spikes. The Miss America pageant model wore a $950 evening gown and a $3,000 count to match.

The monthly 600 card party of Hershey Post American Legion No. 386 was held February 9 in the Old Store building. About 60 players attended despite bad weather. Prizes were awarded to J. J. Daniels, Mrs. Repert, Mrs. Winfield Zimmerman, Winfield Zimmerman, Mrs. William Miller, Mrs. L. I. Edwards and Carl Schmidt.
