A thousand Hershey employees received year end bonuses of unknown total. The plan dates to eight years ago and is paid to workers with at least six months continuous service in 1916. The program has boosted morale and strengthened factory organization, with over 80 percent qualifying now.
The second annual Pure Food Show at the Hershey Store runs next Tuesday through Saturday. Building on last year's success the event promises broader scope with bargains, music, samples, souvenirs and prizes each evening. Free movies Tuesday and a free dance Thursday invite all to attend.
Mr. and Mrs. Lynn R. Meekins and Lynn W. Meekins were summoned to Cape Charles by the death of Hon. M. H. Stevenson, brother-in-law of Mr. Meekins. A longtime Cape Charles resident, he modernized the town sanitation, served as mayor, and later became Port Collector. He was active in banking and real estate and had wide public ties.
A collision below the Derry Church curve involved Hummelstown engine No 1008 assisting engine 1006 on the East Penn track. The crash derailed the lead engine and injured a crew member slightly. Wrecking crews worked hours to clear the line delaying the 10 50 eastbound from Harrisburg about an hour.
The Hershey Men's Chorus delays its rehearsals until next week due to the Fira men Chia week. Rehearsals resume Monday evening in the concert room of Hershey Central Theatre.

A large crowd attended a Thursday evening dance in the Press Building hall despite frigid weather. The spacious second floor venue offered good music, free admission, and dances priced at five cents each, promising an attractive program tonight.
Karl Peters, president of the Her shey Chocolate Company office force, spoke at the Rosewood A C meeting in Harrisburg last Wednesday evening. The club tendered a reception for members who served as troopers on the Mexican border.

The United States imported 243,232,000 pounds of crude cocoa in fiscal 1916, a 50,000,000 pound rise from 1915 and double 1910 levels. The boom stems from rising demand for chocolate and cocoa rather than changes in manufactured cocoa and chocolate imports. Direct shipments from producers increased, including 25,000,000 pounds from British West Africa, with notable gains from Brazil Portugal and French Africa and a drop from the United Kingdom.
Hershey High School girls suffer a 26 to 14 defeat at the hands of Annville in Hershey after five straight decisions. Injuries from the Oberlin game limited several Hershey players though they fought hard. In the same night the Hershey boys lost to Annville 41 to 12 as Annville led throughout and Hershey scored three field goals and fouls.
Dustin Farnum stars in The Virginian from the Jesse Lasky company at Hershey Central Theatre Saturday night. The show features 400 scenes and a special after play comedy with George Fawcett starring Wednesday night February 14, plus music both evenings.
Funeral services for Clarence Bomgardner were conducted at the home of his parents Mr and Mrs B I Bomgardner on Cocoa Avenue. Rev John Irwin Meek and Rev RR Butterwick led the rites with burial at Paxtang cemetery. pallbearers named Fred Clark Harry Wirth Monroe Stover Samuel Strine Nissley Imboden and Clare Prehn. Mourners expressed thanks for the many acts of kindness during illness and death.
No basketball games tomorrow at the Hershey Men's Club gym due to the Biremen's show at the Hershey Central theatre. The Bler hey team travels to Lititz tonight for a County League five game, and Lititz will visit Hershey later this season.
