Dr J Riley Bailey and Mrs Bailey with eight children travel home from Sunpur Assam India due to Dr Bailey's nervous breakdown after years of mission work. They left Calcutta November 19 and sail London January 6 aboard the Majestic, arriving Hershey via New York around January 16, 1926. Mrs Bailey is Rev James B MacClure's daughter.
A shooting match will be held at Palm dale on Friday January 1 at J H Millers Store for turkeys geese and ducks with prizes.
The Hershey Schools pupils staged Kathleen last week in Hershey. The musical comedy drew praise as bright and tuneful with strong singing and dancing. Performers included Jesse Dersheimer John Gilman Roy Dundore Samuel Curry and Esther Magrini.

Kenneth Harlan stars with T Roy Barnes Helen Lee Worthing and others in a romantic war era thriller adapted from Jane Cowl stage hit by Channing Pollock and Edgar Selwyn.
Irwin C. Uhler of Burnham near Lewistown known for civic work distributes several hundred New Testaments to prisoners in Lebanon and Dauphin County jails. He gives talks such as The Lost Sheep and assists hospital patients, earning the title The Good Samaritan.
The J O Y Class of Derry Presbyterian Sunday School stages a three act comedy Looking for Mary Jane on January 18, 1926 at 8:00 p m at the Ibrahey Central Theatre. The Humble town Dramatic Club previously performed it in Humble town to strong applause.
The Fifth Annual Hershey Farm Show crowned winners across corn potato poultry and livestock categories. Prizes went to Ira Shenk Roy Shenk Clayton Gingrich Christ Balsbaugh and several others from Hershey Middletown Hummelstown and nearby Lancaster County with champions in corn yellow dent ears yellow dent varieties and animal classes.

Herman Wagner of Palmyra won the judging contest at the Fifth Annual Hershey Farm Products Show by naming the weight difference between two pigs a purebred Duroc Jersey four and a half months old and a scrub animal fourteen months old. The Duroc Jersey was heavier by 5234 pounds. Over six hundred entered. entertainment on Friday night drew more than 300. Upward of 1000 attended the two day show.
A surprise party at Hiram and Mrs Peiffer home on December 20 in Union Deposit and nearby towns. Guests included Henry and Edward Peiffer families, ShreMler and Zelma, Palmyra Smiths, Hershey Manns and Amos Peiffer, Yingst family with Elsie Eva, Cassel Olive, Miller Hoover Nornhold Kaley Gerberich Eshleman Kline, Shellsville residents, plus Webb Buffington Edith Eva. Guests brought many gifts and extended birthday wishes.
George B Leib 64 died at home on East Derry Road after three months of illness. He was a foreman at Moyer and Miller stone quarry for five years and a member of Derry Presbyterian Church. Survived by wife Jennie Rosetta Leth and four sons William Harry George and Theodore plus three grandchildren. Services Thursday at1 30 pm at home and 2 pm at the Derry Presbyterian Church followed by burial in Cornwall Cemetery.

The Wolf Cubs and Boy Scouts of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church held their Christmas party in the church basement Monday evening. A bright illuminated tree stood at the center as devotion and Christmas songs filled the gathering. Each boy gave a gift and received one, with gifts revealing many novel musical instruments and mechanical toys. Games followed by refreshments left the group in holiday cheer, and a hike was planned for the vacation period.

A Dauphin County Civil Court jury awarded 7500 to Mrs. Bertha Reeder of Coraopolis and her daughter Dorothy M. Cover after their suit against Hershey Transit Co. The children Dorothy injured and Clarence D. Cover fatally injured when struck by a Hershey Transit street car on a Beverly trestle in 1922. A request for a new trial may follow if defense points fail.
A birthday dinner was held on Sunday December 20 at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John A Stabley on Trinidad Avenue. The event honored Mrs Stabley’s father who turned 79. Attendees included Cyrus Westhafer and family Amon Stark and family John A Stahley and Alice Ramsey plus Esther Westhafer Norman Smith and children Clarence James Clayton Floyd Rhoda Anna Mary Donald Clayton Jr John Schoolman Blanche Flora Rachael Mabel Kedith McCord Amos Farat and Elwood Farast.
The Hershey National Bank will hold its annual stockholders meeting in Hershey Pennsylvania on Tuesday January 12 1926 between 1 and 3 p m for election of Directors and transaction of business. Hershey edged the Lebanon Valley Stars 31 to 30 after a five minute extra period. Aungst starred with 9 field goals while Robertson and Fasnacht contributed late in a tight game with no team leading by more than five points. Dissinger was absent, limiting Hershey to five players.
On Thursday December 24 at 6 PM Santa Claus will distribute gifts at Hershey Central Theatre to children presenting cards issued by Prof. A M Hinkel. About 900 cards were given to Derry Township children ages 9 and under and to Hershey Industrial School kids. Each child gets candy popcorn an orange and a toy while Christmas carols are led by Rev. Paul M Kinports. Community Chorus members and church choirs are invited to attend and older residents are urged to join for a planned community event.

Derry Township Schools concluded their annual Christmas Seal sale with 19 416 stamps sold and a 194 16 check sent to the Pennsylvania Tuberculosis Society in Harrisburg. Grade 5A led with the highest stamp total and earns the society prize picture.
