The Hershey Volunteer Fire Company reports net proceeds from the recent fair of 1749.56 and expects delivery of a new Packard Twin Six chassis fire truck by June 15. The $8541.75 unit includes 1200 feet of hose capacity, multiple ladders, extinguishers, and a Northern Rotary Pump, with testing by Underwriters.
The Olivets drop the second of a three game series to St. Joe on their home floor. The visitors rallied from a 14 point halftime hole to tie late, then pulled ahead in the final minutes to clinch the win and series championship.
Enthusiastic preparations by committees for the Kanter program at Palmyra Second United Brethren Church on Easter night at 7 30. The program titled The Crown Proclaimed promises interest. Sunday school offers a special class for missions aiming at a 5000 donation. McCrady of Lebanon to speak Sunday May 7 with Spring Rally to feature Carl of Ulreisburg in the afternoon at 2 00. Rev Be Boon of Bellgrove to preach in German at the Peoples’ service. Mothers Day observed by the school. New parsonage dedication planned for May 20. Bishop Wai ML Bell of Hrevidhiteg and Dr S C Back of Philadelphia to speak at morning and evening services.

Isaac D. App of Elizabethville was elected superintendent of county schools by 91 votes from a 175-director body with 139 present. The meeting at the Courthouse saw Hinkel withdraw. App won amid political maneuvering, with salary increases set for the superintendent and assistant.
The Hershey High School community reports a lunch program with daily milk and graham crackers for students in a new communal station. A Sunday meal, alphabet spelling scores, and a fishing license drive by the Department of Fisheries are noted alongside illness and baseball plans.
The Women's Auxiliary to Frank P. Hammon Post 24 will present a silk service flag to the State of Pennsylvania in memory of the 28th Division’s fallen. The event occurs at the Capitol in Harrisburg on Wednesday April 19 at 2 30 PM. Governor Sproul Brigadier General B C Shannon and Mrs Birney will speak.
