William J. Tepsie state commander of the Veterans of Foreign Wars was the guest of Hershey Memorial Post 3502 and its Ladies Auxiliary at a Saturday dinner. State Adjutant Robert S. Musser Post District Commander J. W. Wilson and District Senior Vice Commander Wayne Snavely accompanied him. Tepsic urged focus on community service and teamwork while presenting an autographed portrait to Hershey Commander Clarence E. Jefferies and proposing an aide titled Mr Americanism.

Hershey Electric Company lowers rates effective September 30 for more than three thousand customers. The 200 kwh bill drops from 7.35 to 6.35 dollars, a one dollar saving highlighted by lower charges on the first 200 kwh and inflation relief noted by the company.
