Miller elected Commander of Legion Post 386
Edwin C. Miller was installed as Commander of Hershey Post 386 The American Legion. A World War II Army veteran, Miller previously served as senior vice commander under retiring Commander Major Thomas F. Martin. Martin was honored by Jewish War Veterans of the State with a Distinguished Service Certificate. Officers installed included John R. Bierstein as senior vice commander John D. Emerich as junior vice commander and Donald B. Chubb as finance officer.

Sixth Dutch Days Sets New Record For Attendance
A record crowd of 150000 attended Hershey Park for the Pennsylvania Dutch Days event last week. The Saturday portion drew 60000 for the Pennsylvania Poultry Federation Festival, with registrations from all 48 states and nine foreign countries. Nine thousand diners at a day-long barbecue consumed seven tons of barbequed chicken, while Dutch foods were sold at two churches over the three days. Kathleen Smith, 18, continued on Page Four.

A mini golf course in Palmdale built by 10 year old Larry Linebaugh and neighborhood friends raises funds for the Polio Emergency Fund. Now in its second week, the 12 hole course on 1221 East Derry Road features hazards and a working clubhouse with score cards and a cash box.
