Ida Brandt retires after forty years with Hershey estates
Mrs. Ida R. Brandt a longtime Hershey resident and former Estates employee retires after forty years of service. She supervised at Hershey Telephone Company for thirty seven years and spent the last three years at Hershey Sports Arena, retiring September 1. Her career began on Labor Day 1918 with a small two-position switchboard at the trolley station.

Opening Of Fund Campaign Is Readied For Next Week
The Derry Township Welfare Board announces a united fund drive with Tri-County United Fund planning an in plant campaign starting October 15 at Milton Hershey School and spreading through Hershey Chocolate Corp and Hershey Estates. Firms include H B Reese Candy Co Acme Food Market Derry Schools Miller Brothers King Kup Candies and M L Haldeman. Donations may use payroll deduction or cash and support the Lebanon County Community Chest. John R Zoll and Richard L Uhrich lead the effort with others to follow.

Harry E. Habecker began with Hershey Chocolate Corporation when the industry was five years old. He retires after over fifty years in Coating Casting and Wrapping and twenty years as a foreman. He lives at 81 Trinidad Avenue since 1914 and has a family including three daughters and six grandchildren. He enjoys woodworking and has built two grandfather clocks and plans a third. He belongs to the Hershey Foremen's Club and past tours of local industries.
