Hershey Volunteer Fire Company announces a new emergency signal number 6003 for fire alarms and ambulance calls. The Emergency Service line is shared and must be used only for fire or ambulance emergencies, kept clear for such use.
The Hershey Community Club senior tennis team defeated the Reading Monarchs 7 to 2 to win the Lehigh Valley Tennis League championship at Berks County Tennis Club. The win extended Hershey’s streak to 34 straight victories, adding a Lehigh Valley title to their fourth championship of the year.

Two Hershey Chocolate Corp employees staged a wheelbarrow ride from Hershey Square to Palmyra Square on Saturday morning to mock a bet about the Philadelphia Phillies finishing in the NL first division. Samuel Gingrich and Richard Snoke handled the event, with Snoke pushing the barrow over Route 422, wearing a shoulder harness and large hat.
Organizations and marching groups are urged to enter the Hershey Halloween Parade on Saturday evening October 30. Contact Cyril J. Little parade chairman at his office phone 251 or home 37531. The event is sponsored by Derry Township PTA with Ivan Seltzer and Hiram Groff as celebration co chairs.
