Community Thanksgiving Service Arranged in Hershey
The Hershey Ministerial Association invites all residents to a union Thanksgiving service next Thursday at Spring Creek Church of the Brethren. The nine o clock interdenominational service features Rev J Herbert Miller as presiding pastor and sermons and readings by local pastors from Holy Trinity Lutheran, First Evangelical United Brethren, Derry Presbyterian, Fishburn EUB, and other churches. Music by Spring Creek choirs directed by Edwin Beaver and Paul Fisher with organist Mrs Randall Wagner.

Joseph A. Gassler To Retire Dec 1 As Hotel Manager
Joseph A. Gassler will retire December 1 as managing director of Hotel Hershey, completing another twenty five year chapter. Succeeding him will be Charles E. Todd of Aiken, South Carolina. Gassler, a Swiss native, joined Hershey in 1931 and led the hotel since its 1932 opening, hosting leaders and dignitaries including Vice President Nixon and Senator Taft.

Mr Charles E Todd of Aiken South Carolina has been appointed managing director of Hotel Hershey after the retirement of Joseph Gassler. Todd brings wide hotel experience including stints at St James Philadelphia Bellevue Stratford Pocono Manor Lake Placid Club and Hotel Henderson. He has held leadership roles in the Philadelphia Hotel Association and Pennsylvania State Hotel Association and served in community projects in Germantown and beyond.

Fund Drive Underway In Derry Township Welfare Campaign
The unified campaign by the Derry Township Welfare Board and Tri-County Unified Fund continues with door-to-door solicitation aimed at residents who have not contributed in the in-plant phase. The Hershey companies and Milton Hershey School report a strong in-plant fund drive. In-plant divisions total $32,352.30 with contributions from Hershey Chocolate Corporation $22,483.40, Hershey Estates $6,427.50, and Milton Hershey School $3,441.40. Lebanon County Community Chest also benefited through the unified effort.
