The Hershey Ground Observer Corps unit received Air Force recognition during a Sunday ceremony at the Harrisburg Filter Center. About twenty members attended as the group was taken on a tour of the installation, and an award honoring the unit's long service was presented.
Hershey High School students won multiple ratings at the state Forensic and Music League contests in Bethlehem. William Nix led the chorus with a superior rating, joined by Lee Moyer and a brass sextet including David Fortna Thomas Longenecker Terry Garman James Kling William Nixon. Robert Seltzer earned a good rating as a student conductor.
Miss Janet Jones of Hershey Hospital supervises the new electrocardiograph with daily heart studies averaging over one. Dr. Carl R. Sherk of Lebanon interprets the tracings and reports reach physicians within 24 hours. Staff training and regional consultant support accompany the device.
